State-Of-The-Art Macula and Retina Office
Doctor Deupree has made great
efforts to equip The Macula Center with the most modern
ophthalmic equipment available. Here, we describe
some of the equipment we use to provide our patients with
the best care available.

Optical Coherence
Tomography (OCT) OCT is a new, non-invasive
technology used for imaging the
retina, the multi-layered sensory tissue lining
the back of the eye. OCT, the first instrument to
allow doctors to see cross-sectional images of the
retina, is revolutionizing the early detection and
treatment of eye conditions such as
macular
holes,
pre-retinal
membranes,
macular
swelling and even
optic nerve damage.

Pascal Laser (Pattern Scan
Laser)
The Pascal
laser is a new, innovative tool designed to
treat retina conditions like
diabetic retinopathy and
retinal
holes and tears. It is unique to any previous
laser instrument in that it delivers a “single-shot”,
predetermined pattern of multiple, precision laser
applications. This allows for much quicker, safer
application and much less discomfort to the patient. |

Zeiss Visulas Laser Laser
surgery is used for many retinal problems including
diabetic retinopathy and
macular
degeneration. The Zeiss Visulas laser
system incorporates many years of experience in
the development of ophthalmic lasers along with
the unrivaled safety and precision optics Zeiss
is famous for.
Photodynamic Therapy
Used in conjunction with the Zeiss laser,
Visudyne is the
first available drug therapy for people with a certain
form of
age-related macular degeneration (AMD) known
as predominantly classic “wet
AMD.” Visudyne slows the progression of
vision loss that is caused by wet AMD. Dr.
Deupree will determine if Visudyne therapy is the
right choice for you.

Zeiss Digital Imaging
System This state-of-the-art retinal camera
is used for
fluorescein angiography. The Zeiss FF-450
is the first digital-ready, universally applicable
three-angle fundus camera designed to be the ultimate
optical interface to digital imaging systems. Providing
the highest resolution available, the Zeiss allows
Dr. Deupree to assess
the finest structures on the
retina. |
